Kitchen Guide to Vegetables

Welcome to our Kitchen Guide! This is part one of many. We have seen vegetables stored in many different ways, but to ensure that food stays fresh we wanted to go over the best ways to store some of our favorite foods. I love to think of a grocery store when storing vegetables and mimic that way at home.

Items best stored in the fridge at all times:

-Asaparagus (I store mine in a mason jar standing up with some water)

- Arugula

-Salad Mix

-Broccoli

-Cauliflower

-Spinach

-Peppers

-Lettuce

-Mushrooms

-Cucumbers

-Celery

-Corn

-Beans

-Brussel Sprouts

-Radish

Other veggies, do best on the counter until they are ripe. Once ripe, you can store them in the refrigerator.

-Tomatoes

-Summer Squash

These vegetables have a great shelf life when stored in a dark pantry.

-Potatoes

-Onions

-Garlic

-Yams, Sweet Potatoes
